Only Sing, Not Read

What I have learned from the songs from the older days is that, their lyrics cant be said out nor just read out to. For example, I have you under my skin by Frank Sinatra. You cant just tell your girlfriend you have her under your skin, anyone might get the wrong picture as to some might even get an impression that you have her in your pants or skirt. So the beauty of these words put together and made into a song is not very often heard of these days.  Let me have a chance to show you a few people who has these kind of lyrics.

These are 4 out of the many other people or bands that posses lyrics that cant be just read out.  Sometimes, I wish that people like these cant die cause they bring a lot of originality into their music and lyrics. Current music is great for me when looking at the mood but songs from the older days hit you in the heart not in the ears so that is why i have a sentimental value for songs like these. Though songs like these aren't able to sell in the market and thats why singer like these don't come up with new similar songs. But hopefully one day, some youngster will bring back the value of songs like these.

Refreshments of the past

Since my 1st post, I have been researching on the interests of music from the current generation. And I have come up with a result based on my studies, the boys of our generation prefer music artists or bands that are considered hot if I may say so. For example, Nicki Minaj, Selena Gomez, Girl’s Generation and even Miley Cyrus. As for the girls, Malaysia’s own dream man is none other than Justin Bieber, The Wanted, 1 Direction, and Big Bang. Aside from the music difference, the K-Pop culture has taken over our Malaysian society. Just to remind you, my posts aren’t a meaning of condemning but rather to show you and remind you that the old songs in the 1st few chapters in the book of all songs ever made, should not be forgotten even throughout the next few generations.

Let me start of by introducing a few artists and bands you as a fan of the current music probably might never hear of.
Frank Sinatra songs : Under my skin, My way, Fly me to the Moon.
Stevie Wonder, became blind shortly after birth had become one of the music icons in the late 20’s. His songs: I just called to say I love you, Isn’t she lovely, you are the sunshine of my life Happy Birthday.

Introduction to Old School For the New School

It's 2013 and our generation's taste of music has changed 360 degrees. New Genres have been created such as Dubstep, Trance, House and even Techno. I'm not implying that these are bad in anyway as I like them too. But my point is, our generation has lost it's appreciation towards the old days where our parents and grandparents sat on a wooden or bamboo chair, staring at the beautiful tears when clouds cry while enjoying a nice hot cup of tea. Those were the good old days when music was meaningful. Now it's all about the money but I don't blame the artists. If the public  wanted songs like the old days, till today it would have still been. Change in taste I guess is what happened to the public.

It's never a bad thing have the music these days produce, people also say there are hidden satanic signs or meanings in old and new songs. But I personally believe that its just a perspective misunderstanding and it's basically an image for the bands or artists to look and seem unique. If every artist in the world looked like Michael Jackson or Marilyn Manson or Skrillex, where would we find originality. Correct me if I'm wrong please.
